Name: Ben Saturen Locale: Petaluma, California Exhibitions: Ben Saturen's accomplishments are most impressive. For years he has been one of America's premiere wildlife artists. His subject is oceanic wildlife for which he has received exceptional acclaim. Living in Petaluma, California, his oils, serigraph prints and hand-pulled silkscreen prints have received many honors and awards. He was chosen "Artist of The Year" for Project Reefkeepers for 1994. The World Wildlife Fund chose Saturen to do a series of stamps and he is listed in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who in The West. Ben is also a member of the Society of Animal Artists, and the prestigious Los Angeles Audubon Society. His work has been exhibited worldwide finding it's way into numerous prestigious collections including that of Burt Reynolds. His commissions are also impressive including The Nature Discovery Press poster of "Marine Wildlife". Artist's Statement: "I enjoy recording underwater scenes which few people have the opportunity to encounter. I enjoy discovering the abstract qualities which are very much part of the oceanic environment. The spectacular colors and the great variety of forms that exist due to the dynamics of the water medium challenge my imagination and inspire my artistic pursuits."
