Exhibitions: Michael Sarraille expresses the beauty of the land in his works. Intricate in his detail, yet simple in his compositions, this unique combination brings to focus a feeling of unpretentious realism. His mountains stand tall with a magnificence of crisp beauty. Airy clouds float lazily overhead, and often soft new-born grass can be seen in clusters under the snow in his valley foregrounds. Born in San Francisco, November 8, 1943, Michael grew up in southern California where his mother was an actress in the movies and on television. Though he began painting at the age of 16, his serious studies did not begin until his twenties. Through several influences, including viewing works in museums and art galleries, Michael has delved into the areas of both realism and surrealism. Perhaps this is why his current combination of color, rhythm and design mix so beautifully in his landscape scenes. Mr. Sarraille comments, "that his goal as an artist is to create an emotional impact that draws the viewer into his canvas." He hopes that a personal meaning arises for the viewer, or that an intimate feeling be felt, or that even an experience of the physical senses be perceived. Having shown in several major galleries throughout California, Mr. Sarraille has established himself as a noted artist of fine landscape paintings.
